Content clusters: how to dominate a topic
The pillar and cluster model that helps you become a niche authority and rank for many keywords.

Topic clusters are a content organization strategy that helps you become a topic authority and rank for many related keywords. It's one of the most effective modern SEO methods.
What is the pillar and cluster model
The model has two parts: a pillar page (a broad, overview page about the main topic) and cluster articles (deeper articles about narrower subtopics). They're all connected with internal links.
Why it works
- Topical authority – Google sees that you cover the topic thoroughly.
- Internal links pass power between pages.
- More keywords – you rank for dozens of related queries.
How to build a cluster
- Pick a main topic (e.g. „SEO“).
- Create a pillar page covering the whole topic.
- Write cluster articles about subtopics („local SEO“, „technical SEO“, „link building“).
- Connect them: cluster articles link to the pillar and to each other.
Instead of one long article about everything – a network of interlinked pages. That's how you dominate a topic.
Example
This site's blog is a cluster: the main guides link to narrower articles and service pages – exactly the way we recommend you do it.
